My approach
Whether I work with one person or with a group, there are some important aspects that I always try my best to take care of:
- having a person-centered and scientifically informed approach based on my professional and personal experiences
- my bachelor’s and master’s training is rooted in cognitive-behavioural coaching and therapy. This structured, action-oriented, and time-limited approach supports mental health by helping people shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors
- over the past decade, I have also completed further training in trauma-informed practices and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while continuing my own personal development and healing through years of systemic therapy, coaching, and guidance in nature-based approaches and depth psychology
- being culturally mindful meaning approaching interactions with a deliberate awareness and respect for people’s diverse cultural backgrounds, values, norms, and experiences
- being rooted in a feminist, anti-oppressive perspective, and intersectional values, with a commitment to challenging systemic inequality and supporting social justice by standing in solidarity with marginalized communities, resisting pathologization, supporting collective liberation, and centering lived experience and structural inequality; I am also committed to learning decolonizing principles to address the colonial legacies embedded in many therapeutic frameworks
- creating spaces that are affirming, inclusive, and attentive to different identities and experiences (gender identities, different relational structures, etc.)
- ethical standards, confidentiality, and adaptability to each person’s unique needs and context.
